This statement is published pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps OSCABE LTD has taken in the financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chain.
OSCABE LTD's annual turnover is currently below the £36 million threshold set out in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We nonetheless publish this statement voluntarily because we operate a cross-border engineering platform and consider transparency on this issue to be an important commitment to our Engineers and Clients.
1. Our business
OSCABE LTD (Company No. 15913493) operates oscabe.com, a specialist remote-engineering platform connecting industrial automation, AI and robotics engineers - primarily based in India and the United Arab Emirates - with Clients in the UK and EEA.
Our supply chain comprises:
- Engineers working as independent contractors on our Platform
- Technology sub-processors (hosting, email, billing, AI inference) listed at Sub-processors
- Professional service providers (legal, accounting, audit) in the United Kingdom
2. Risk assessment
We consider the modern-slavery risk inherent in our supply chain to be low to moderate, on the following basis:
- Engineers are professional, skilled workers paid at or above local market rates, with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience. They are not in low-paid or precarious labour.
- Our technology sub-processors are all UK / EU / US-based regulated entities with their own modern-slavery commitments.
- The geographies we operate in (UK, EU, India, UAE) have varying levels of state enforcement; we apply heightened due diligence on Engineers based in jurisdictions with lower enforcement.
3. Policies
Our Acceptable Use Policy prohibits the use of OSCABE to source candidates for any unlawful activity, weapons systems or use prohibited by sanctions. Our Contractor Agreement requires Engineers to be lawfully entitled to work in their place of residence and confirms that all work is voluntary.
We operate a Whistleblower / Complaints Procedure under which any person can report concerns to the CEO.
4. Due diligence
We:
- Verify each Engineer's identity, address and right to work as part of CE verification.
- Pay Engineers within 5 business days of cleared Client funds, in line with our Terms of Service.
- Do not deduct fees or charges from Engineer payments other than the disclosed 25% Platform Fee.
- Ensure Engineer engagements specify a minimum 3-month term with a clear end date and a clear notice period - not open-ended servitude.
We review our top tier of sub-processors annually for modern-slavery statements where they are in scope of the Act.
5. Training
All OSCABE staff receive an annual modern-slavery briefing as part of onboarding and yearly refresh.
6. Effectiveness
The CEO reviews this statement annually. To date we have received zero reports of modern slavery in our business or supply chain.
7. Approval
This statement is approved by the Board of OSCABE LTD and is signed by the CEO.
